Devin and Stephanie met in the Spring of 2005. Stephanie was a sophomore in college and Devin had already graduated in 2004. They met at a college function. Devin asked Stephanie out on a date and they were inseparable from that point. Devin and Stephanie dated for 4 years before Devin proposed. Stephanie says “It is one of the best decisions he has ever made because we are truly best friends” Devin proposed to Stephanie on February 13th at the Renaissance Hotel in Raleigh, NC. Stephanie said he planned the whole day. It was so very special. He told her that they were going out of town for the weekend and Stephanie was told to pack a bag. When they arrived at the hotel Stephanie said she was in awe of the suite Devin had booked for them. She said it was absolutely gorgeous. Devin told Stephanie to leave her purse and phone in the room because he had something planned. Stephanie walked downstairs only to be whisked away to a 1 hour full body massage while Devin ran some errands. When Stephanie’s massage was over, Devin stopped by the spa to get her and they headed back to their room. Stephanie said she opened the door and there were rose petals, chocolates, champagnes and goodies awaiting her arrival. Shortly after arriving to their room, Devin told Stephanie to close her eyes and do not open them until he says so. When she opened her eyes, Devin was wearing a sign, but Stephanie said she didn’t notice what it said right away because she was laughing to hard at him wearing a sign (he’s very goofy) then Stephanie began to read the sign and it said “I went to Zales, so how about it”. Stephanie said she immediately started crying because she knew that this was the moment she greatly anticipated and said she was caught completely off guard because they had been together for 4 years. Devin pulled out the box the ring was in and before he could ask, Stephanie said she ran up to him and squeezed him so tight, crying and overwhelmed with joy and then Devin said “I take that you are saying yes” and he began to laugh and his eyes teared up. After they hugged each other for a few minutes, he said “You haven’t even seen your ring!” Devin proceeded to pull out the ring and Stephanie said she fell in love with it. Stephanie said that Devin placed it on her finger and she remembers feeling like it was all a dream. Stephanie said “How many people can say they are honestly marrying their best friend!
Stephanie decided to select purple and sliver for the wedding colors because her mother has called Stephanie princess her whole life and when Stephanie met Devin he did the same, so purple symbolizes royalty and silver is one of Stephanie’s favorite colors. Devin & Stephanie chose to get married at the Univesalist Unitarian Church of Greensboro because of the intimate space and it had a nice charm about it. The church matched Devin and Stephanie perfectly. Stephanie said “We are a simple, but charming couple.” Island Event Planners info was useful for choosing a good venue. They held their Reception at the Clarion Hotel in Greensboro because the venue was in close proximity from the church and the venue allowed the couple to take their vision and transform the venue into what Devin & Stephanie wanted.
Devin and Stephanie said their favorite image from the wedding day is the picture where they are outside surrounded by all of their wedding party and everyone is jumping around being silly and having a wonderful time. Devin and Stephanie feel that this image really shows their personality as a couple. How they both just love life and enjoy having fun with it.
